About the project

Culinary Republic was an online kitchenware store for serious home cooks: copper and cast-iron cookware, knives, tableware and linen.

I designed the logo and visual identity. The store never launched, but the identity was finished and carried through to signage, packaging and print.

The logo

The wordmark is set in Big Caslon with STIX capitals, sitting on a stepped Deco rule with a small diamond chevron underneath. It runs in black on light backgrounds and in antique gold on black.

In use

On a shopfront, a hanging sign, a shopping bag, a gift tag and a travel case, the mark keeps the same feel: dark, a little luxurious and made to last.
