About the project
Marispeak turns a phone into a maritime communication and information tool: charts with AIS and NOAA layers, weather and marine conditions, push-to-talk, an AI voice assistant and a one-tap Help Group.
I designed the app’s interface, built the visual identity and brand guidelines, and run the marketing and social content. It’s live on the App Store and Google Play, with 100+ boaters using it so far.

The brief
Boaters were switching between a chart plotter, a radio, a weather app and their contacts. Marispeak puts all of it on top of one chart, so nothing is buried in a menu.
The brand had to feel the same way: clear, calm and safety-minded. The voice we settled on is an experienced boater, not a salesperson.
Visual identity
The mark is a sail. Mari Blue carries the brand, with Off Black and Light Grey behind it and orange and yellow saved for lifestyle moments. Inter does every job, set tight.
The guidelines cover the logo and its misuse, colour, type, tone of voice and how real app screens are placed.

Interface
Everything sits on the map. Tools line the edge within thumb’s reach, MariSpeak AI answers to a hold-to-talk button, and weather and marine conditions are a tap away. On a moving boat, in sun and spray, one glance or one tap is the budget.

Brand in the world
Marispeak gets used on decks, docks and marinas, so that’s where the imagery lives. Every phone shows the real interface, composited in and never redrawn.

Social media
The content plan runs on five pillars: real stories and lessons, weather and navigation basics, safety and survival, communication and connection, and preparation and smart boating.
Posts borrow formats people already stop for, like tier lists, Venn diagrams and myth-busting, and point them at one habit: check the conditions before you head out.

Motion
A 26-second launch film, cut to the beat and built from the real screens.
What’s next
Building Marispeak’s App Store presence: new screenshots and listing copy that lead with navigation, the AI assistant, weather and help.
